RV KIDS CURRICULUM

Jesus said, "Let the little children come to me..."

Matthew 19:14

KIDS MINISTRY IS SO MUCH MORE THAN CHILDCARE...IT'S DISCIPLESHIP!

Children are precious to God and we recognize that they are the future leaders in the church and the world. Our River Valley Kids ministrry was desgned from the ground up with this in mind. We desire our children to grow into adult maturity as committed disciples of Christ, filled with a knowledge of God that dramatically transforms both their work and home environments. Students are challenged to move from examining God to experiencing Christian friendship to expressing their faith at school and in their families. Our RV Kids staff seek to demonstrate a love for the Lord and a commitment to seeing their students grow in their understanding of who God is, who they are and what God has done for them in Jesus Christ.

WE BELIEVE:
...the Bible should be presented to children with an emphasis on God's story of creation, fall, redemption, and restoration (Deuteronomy 6:6-9; Romans 1:16-17)

...the responsibility for a child's spiritual growth rests primarily in the hands of his or her parents or . We desire to come along side of, support and encourageparents in their role as spiritual leaders (Ephesians 6:4)

...we should pray for the children and rely on the Holy Spirit to regenerate their hearts through the faithful teaching of His Words (Romans 10:17; Ephesians 2:4-10)

...in living a life before children that models how Christians respond to God's call, each other, and the whole world around them (Matthew 5:16; 1 Corinthians 11:1)

...caring for children is not a right, but a privilege. We are accountable for the way we minister to and care for them (Matthew 18:5-6)

1ST SUNDAY FAMILY WORSHIP (ELEMENTARY):
Children are always welcome to join us in our worship gatherings! We will also intentionally invite all of our elementary age students (K-5th grade) to join us in the worship gatherings and close our elementary classes on 1st Sundays. Kids worship sheets and crayons are available to help children begin engaging with what's happening in the worship gathering. Please feel free to put bring bring quiet toys,  tablets, paper and crayons, etc., to help your kids acclimate to being in the worship gathering.

CHILD SAFETY:
We want to create the safest environment possible for our children providing as much peace of mind as possible as parents/guardians leave their children in our care. All volunteers 18 years old or older who serve in RV KIDS are background checked every 2 years via Checkr. The Planning Center Check-In platform is also utilized to used ensure that all children are securely checked into RV KIDS before they go to their areas and that only authorized parents/guardians with the issued security tag are able to pick up their children.
